Our First-Ever Virtual Chinese New Year Gathering!!

Hindsight is 2020 - pun intended!  It’s been the most unusual year we have ever seen in our life-time. What have we learnt? What encouragement can we bring to one another as we step into a new year in the lunar calendar?  

Let’s get together on what is commonly held in the Chinese community as “everyone’s birthday” (人日) to share our joy and our burden.  There will also be a time of celebration with games, chats and a short greeting from Tyndale’s new president, Dr. Marjory Kerr.  We welcome alumni all across Canada and even beyond to join.   Break-out groups will be set up according to your language preference - English, Cantonese or Mandarin.

Dear fellow Chinese alumni, "Those Were The Days 那些年 … " Yes, those were the sweet good old days - when we dreamed and hugged, laughed and cried, struggled and grew together! God has been faithful, and He will continue to be! After a very encouraging Zoom gathering for those who graduated between 2000 and 2009, we would like to invite those of you who graduated during the years 2000 and before to join us for a similar gathering. Those who are currently residing and serving outside of the GTA and even overseas are especially welcome! We will focus not so much on ministries but more on our lives and families - and encourage one another with how we have experienced His grace and love through the years. CASUAL Zoom gathering for the Tyndale 2000-2009 graduates

Dear Tyndale Friends,

Zoom-Zoom-Zoom….. sounds like a fast racing car?? But most of us understand what it means these days 😊. Hope this email finds you healthy and well.

During the lockdown, we use Zoom frequently for Sunday worship, ministry meetings, webinars, Bible study, children programs, …… the list just goes on and on. In the midst of the physical-distancing requirements, we do miss our friends, especially old buddies, such as our Tyndale classmates.

In view of that, we are arranging a CASUAL Zoom gathering for the Tyndale 2000-2009 graduates so as to catch up with one another with friendly chats and encouragements in Christ. No matter where in the world you happen to be at this time, hope that you could join this Zoom-Zoom-Zoom Fellowship.

追月 Get-together at Tyndale Homecoming

Dear alumni,

If you haven’t heard already, there will be a special Home-Coming Day to celebrate 125th Anniversary of Tyndale on campus on Saturday, Sept 21.  

For Chinese alumni, we will have a get-together at Room G310 from 2:45 to 4:00 pm.  
Besides Chinese snack such as curry fishball (can you smell it?) and mooncake (for “chasing the moon 追月” ), we have also invited old-time professors to join us.

It’s not often that we get to reconnect with these beloved profs in such a close and cozy way!  Just drop in and be warmed by their usual smiles and encouraging words! 

After the get-together, you will have opportunity to have dinner with alumni and then Dr. Alister McGrath will be speaking the evening. Also taking place in the evening is the installation of Dr. Dennis Ngien as the Alister E. McGrath Chair of Christian Thought and Spirituality.
